Avians are a species of Virtual Monsters that are known for soaring the skies. They are known for their ability to fly and they have a unique advantage at fighting in the sky. This species can range from birds and bird-like creatures and even bats. They have a clear advantage while fighting in the sky and are known for being the masters of sky combat. While they aren't the only species of Virtual Monster that have the ability to fly, they are known for inventing the technique for it. They have a species rivalry with Serpentines. Avians are one of the species that new Tamers can start their journey with. Avians have a species rivalry with the Serpentine species. Avians often hunt members of the Serpentine species and see them as prey. Due to this behavior, it is not uncommon to see groups of Serpentine Monsters battle Avian Monsters as Avians have the advantage with being able to fly in battle. Avians are not cowards, they are known for being a very brave species of Virtual Monsters. Avians are one of the five animal species found in the Virtual World along with Beasts, Canines, Felines and Mammals. The animal species were all born from pet simulator programs.
