HTTPS, or "Covenant" is a secret cult that is bent on severing the bridge between the Real World and the Virtual World. Obsessed with the Virtual World and their unlimited potential while in the Virtual World, they are stuck on the idea of being immortal while within the Virtual World. Inside of the Virtual World the limits of a humans being strength, stamina and agility are phenomenal when compared to the real-life version of themselves. For example, someone who is crippled in the Real World will have the ability to walk in the Virtual World. Their Virtual World versions of themselves are a lot stronger and more powerful, which allows them the ability to do the things that they want to do. Often, they see themselves as being superhuman while in the Virtual World. And this is why their mission is to leave the physical bodies behind in the Real World and remain in the Virtual World forever. Unfortunately, there's a time limit to how long one can stay inside of the Virtual World. And this is why it is their goal to destroy the connection between both worlds. This is also why they have been seen as a threat from law enforcement, as it would harm many people in the world. With this in mind, it has yet to be revealed how they will accomplish such a feat, which is why most people label Protocol as being a religious cult or in other words "delusional". The people within the cult are typically people who have been kicked out of society or suffer from some kind of medical condition. They typically don't attack people, which is why most of their actions have been considered under the radar.
