Evolution Crests

In the world of Virtual Monsters, Virtual Evolution is a way for a Monster to increase their overall power and strength. By evolving into a stronger form, they are able to tap into greater sources of powers and use stronger attacks and skills. Normally, a Monster can Virtual Evolve by defeating other Virtual Monsters and absorbing their Monster Data (MD). Eventually over time, they will have acquired enough data that will allow them to Virtual Evolve into the next rank. As mentioned in Evolution Stages, a Monster can evolve from Alpha Rank to Beta Rank and from Beta Rank to Gamma Rank. This is the natural process of Virtual Evolution. However, there are levels of Monsters that go beyond Gamma Rank. This requires more than simply gathering enough data in-order to evolve. It requires a significant amount of Virtual Soul that goes beyond what most Tamers and Monsters can muster together. It needs a catalyst that helps cause an eruption of Virtual Soul. This catalyst comes in the form of an Evolutionary Crest.

Evolution Crests are symbolic catalysts that are tied to human emotions and the will of a Monster. While normally, when Tamers are fighting, it requires both the Tamer and the Monster to be in sync with one another in-order to perform Virtual Evolution. Evolving further than Gamma Rank requires the Monster to really care for their Tamer and as such, the Evolution Crests pick up on these frequencies of emotions and thus, produces the Virtual Soul necessary for Sigma Evolution and even Omega Evolution. It's from a Tamer's many experiences that allows them to go even further than they did before in terms of power. Each Evolution Crest symbolizes a powerful feeling or emotion. By tapping into this emotion, a Tamer can then tap into greater supplies of Virtual Soul.

There are 9 Evolutionary Crests scattered throughout the entire Virtual World. You will have to spend a great deal searching the vast depths of the Virtual World in-order to find a single crest. That being said, it's also possible to find a Crest when a Tamer is in great need of it or when they experience a severely emotional feeling that is linked to the Crest.
